No matter how you travel – whether by car, plane, motorcycle, or bus – your first destination in order to reach the island of Vis is the ferry port of Split. From there, you continue to Vis by ferry or high-speed boat (catamaran).

Please purchase your tickets for the route Split–Vis and return about one month before your arrival.

The state ferry operator in Croatia is Jadrolinija. In addition, there is a private high-speed boat operator, Kapetan Luka – Krilo. Please note that the catamaran does not transport vehicles.
The ferry crossing takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, while the high-speed boat takes about 70–90 minutes, depending on the day of the week.

During the high season from June to September, ferries may be fully booked. However, Jadrolinija allocates tickets based on vehicle length and sells only as many vehicle tickets as there is actual space on the ferry. With a ticket purchased in advance, your place on the ferry is reserved. You should then arrive at the ferry port approximately one hour before departure. Tickets are stored in the app or sent by email and must be shown during boarding. If possible, we additionally recommend bringing a printed copy of your tickets.

If you have purchased your tickets in advance and are unable to reach the ferry on time for any reason, you can cancel the ticket before departure by email: booking@jadrolinija.hr
The cancellation fee is 10% of the ticket price.

If you prefer to buy your tickets directly in Split, please make sure to bring the vehicle registration documents, as they are required at the ticket counter.

Once you arrive on Vis, the beach house Nikša is only about 2.5 km away. If you arrive on the island early, you can use the time to buy groceries at one of the two supermarkets on the island or relax in one of the many cafés in Vis.

The parking area is a free gravel parking lot, where vehicles are usually parked on the right-hand side. The walking distance from the parking lot to the house is approximately 120 meters. From the parking area, go down the steps and then follow the concrete path towards the beach.

At the beach, you will see several small boats pulled up along the shore. Walk between two boats onto the beach. From there, turn right and walk along the beach – this will take you directly to the house.

Please note:

The final approximately 60 meters to the house lead directly along the beach and are therefore not suitable for rolling suitcases. We recommend bringing travel bags or backpacks instead of large suitcases.
