“Where can you eat well on Vis?” – this is one of the questions we are asked most frequently by our guests. The island of Vis offers a surprisingly wide variety of excellent restaurants: from simple pizzerias and traditional konobas to outstanding seafood restaurants right by the sea.
To make your choice easier, we have put together a clear and well-structured list of restaurant recommendations, organized by location and type of cuisine. For all fish “lovers”:
In Croatian restaurants, fish is priced raw and whole (including head, bones, and entrails) by weight. After gutting, cleaning, and grilling, the fish loses approximately 30% of its original weight. Depending on how carefully the fish is eaten and how much meat remains on the bones, you may end up consuming only around 50% of the original raw weight. This is common practice and not a scam. Simply keep this weight loss in mind when ordering and, if in doubt, ask to see the fish before it is prepared.
